calibre crash

Calibre is crashing on me regularly. Worked great the past month.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice and deleted the calibre library thinking that I may have had too many books.
On the last try I deleted the sqlite per an instruction I found then it crashed and also crashed firefox part way into this message.
It comes up fine begins to fail as soon as you poke something. Task manager is slow to come up and will not end task.
This last time I got a Wer fault exe app error. The instruction at 0x775c116c referenced memory at 0sf32300c. The required data was not placed into memory because of an I/O error status of 0xc000009c.
Calibre is a wonderful program and I miss it. Hope you can help.

I suspect you have weak Memory of a sick HD. (The reasoning that FF crashed also)
Calibre can be intensive on both.
