Troubleshooting Faint speckling on screen?

Recently I did a hard reset on my Kindle 3 wifi after it froze on the web browser.

Now I notice faint speckling almost all over the screen - minute black dots all over. It's visible when I peer into the screen, and to a much lesser extent when at reading distance.

It doesn't hinder reading, but I find myself looking at the background all the time now that I am aware of this. Does anyone notice this on their Kindle, or am I just getting paranoid over something that was always there, but I just didn't notice until now?

All eInk screens have this. Don't worry about it.

I do hope it isn't present to a greater extent than is normal.

It's called ghosting. Click your ALT and G buttons at the same time, and it will refresh the screen.

I've tried that, doesn't work. These are more like permanent speckles that stay there no matter what.

No, it's not ghosting. Look closely at your screen and you'll see that there's a very fine dusting of tiny black specks over it. All eInk screens have this. It's entirely normal.

The Kindle screen has always reminded me of a newspaper, which isn't completely pristine.

It looks like it suppose too. I have two different ereaders one pearl and one old screen and they both have those dots on it. It's totally normal.

I can barely see the dots on your pics, and yes, it looks completely normal.

I turned mine on just to see if I could spot any dots... And there were a few here and there. Looks normal.
