Question on Kindle files
Good afternoon,
I have the Kindle app on both my Pocket eDGe and my PC. They read fine on the Droid screen but I'd like to read them on the eInk screen. I haven't found files on the eDGe that I can open. I have found on the PC where the files appear to be stored as .azw files, but when I copy them to my PE it says "no activity" when I try to open them. I'm updated to Ermine. Is there a way I am missing to open Kindle files on the eInk screen? Thank you, this forum has been invaluable and I'm really enjoying my Pocket eDGe! |

Use Calibre and convert books to use on the eink side as well. (It doesn't do the Kindle directly).

To find out about DRM you should google apprentice Alf's blog and do some reading.

Actually, that is not true. I have many Kindle books, from Amazon, without DRM, that have the .azw file extension. I just changed the file extension to read them with Mobipocket Reader.
If you really have the Kindle app in both places, you have to download a copy of the book for that application. One with DRM from one app will not open in a different app. Edited to add: I don't know anything about the Pocket Edge. If it doesn't have internet connectivity, I don't think you can fetch Kindle books without sideloading, and Amazon does not give the option to download and transfer for the apps. You'd have to remove the DRM. Last edited by susan_cassidy; 09-08-2011 at 06:18 PM. |
