In addition to the $10 welcome gift from Kobobooks, now Chapters-Indigo is temporarily offering 5000 points in their plum rewards program with any purchase of a Kobo ereader (Aug 12 - Aug 14 only). That's worth a little over $10 on your next book purchase at Chapters. Anyone can join the plum rewards program for free. Considering that all the Kobo models still cost $10 more in Canada than in the U.S., every little bonus helps!

Thanks for the info. Chapters-Indigo got me on this news - that was my tipping point.

I just bought a Kobo Touch. The key factors for me were:

(1) Deal on the e-reader (plum rewards)
(2) Regular discount codes on e-books
(3) Kobo developer presence in these forums taking feedback, helping customers resolve technical issues, etc.

Keep up the good work and customer service Chapters-Indigo / Kobo!
