Had to reset my and help with email

After resetting my Edge, I am not sure how to get my email back. When go to the email icon, I get something k9 email and it has several different steps. If has four different security codes, that are unlike WEP Key. I had to reset my Edge because me menu key wasn't working. Now every thing accept how to sign in and get my email is different. I am not if sure if any of you have experienced what I have. Henry

I've reset the email after a reset without any problems.

A WEP key is what you use to log onto a local wireless network; it has nothing to do with accessing your email (aside from needing a way to connect to the internet). To setup the eDGe's email client (K-9), you may need to know the POP setting of the mail server. A few (e.g., Gmail) don't need to be entered in, but others (e.g., Yahoo) require manual entry.

If you don't recall entering the POP info the first time around, then you're probably using Gmail or something that doesn't require manually entry. If that's the case, then just be sure *not* to hit "manual setup" on the first screen (when you enter your email and password). That should allow you to connect right away.

Okay, so for Gmail, just do automatic.

For Comcast, it's POP3 and here are the setting that need to be entered.

Incoming mail:
- Server: mail.comcast.net
- Secure: No
- Port: 110

Outgoing mail:
- Server: smtp.comcast.net
- Secure: No
- Port: 587

Walt; I was able to go to my comcast site and sign and get my regular email. I created a bookmark for my email. That way I can use like my regular and even view attachments. When tap on the email icon I get comcast mobile and comcast mobile email. It is much easier to use the bookmark email site. So if you do a factory reset be ready for some changes. Henry

I'm still not quite sure what you're saying is now different. The mail icon has always launched K-9 and that interface is the same as it's always been. On your original configuration, did you install some third-party email client that might have been usurped K-9?

Hi hmhoshino,

We created an email setup article in the knowledge base that goes step by step for setting up the email client on the eDGe.
https://www.entourageedge.com/suppor...barticleid=122

To setup multiple email accounts - after you have setup your first email account, open the email application and then press the Menu button. Select More, and then Accounts. Then press the Menu button again and select Add Account.

If you would like, we would be happy to walk you through this process over the phone as it may be easier than posting replies on the forum. You can reach us at 1-703-650-5381. If you would prefer for us to call you, just submit a help ticket with your contact info and a good time to contact you. This can be done here: https://www.entourageedge.com/suppor...kets&_a=submit

Regards,
Dan

Hi Walt and Dan;

Having set overnight, for some reason when I tapped on the email icon and entered my email and password it connected right away. My Edge didn't launch email icon until I did a factory reset. That is what caused my trouble. And for some unknown reason when I launced the email icon, it just accepted me and I was able to get email.
