Hanging over the eDGe....
my eDGe is spontaneously hanging far to often. it is irritating, but it does. up till now, the tech support give me a special update, but that didn't do anything. so i found an app called Sendlog. what a eye opener.
these line i found in all the logs.. 05-23 11:20:19.295 E/ethd ( 960): Unable to read framework command (Bad file number) 05-23 11:20:19.295 E/ethd ( 960): Error processing framework command (Bad file number) 05-23 11:20:19.295 E/vold ( 941): Unable to read framework command (Bad file number) 05-23 11:20:19.295 E/vold ( 941): Error processing framework command (Bad file number) could this be the red line through my device? if so, is it a hardware or software problem. |

Did you tried clean reinstall (update firmware with full uninstallation of all custom software and other data) ?
What was the name of the file with "special update" from tech support? |

http://www.entourageedge.com/support...golden.024.zip is the name of the link. Then: Press and hold the menu button and the rotate button 7. While still holding the menu button and rotate button, press the power button to turn on the eDGe 8. Release the menu and rotate button 4-5 seconds after hitting the power button 9. The eDGe should enter an update screen displaying 'Update in Progress'.
i did al this,but as you can see in those log-lines it didn't help. furthermore, the hanging is still the same.. sometimes immediately after startup, sometimes a couple of seconds after startup, sometimes during surfing or working in the emailprogram. it will definitely hang, that's the problem. the log file is long, but very interesting stuff is in it. |

Link doesn't work. But since it's named "golden" it must delete all harddisk content. and made clean install.
Maybe harddrive (flash/SDHC) problem? |

mmm, that's probebly what it is. i just did the last update and those framework errors are now all over the place.i start to believe it is hardware. so far the software didn't do me any good. tnx for thinking with me
in the meantime i received from the tech support an update. did that and it looked promising. yes, it looks more stable, but not enough. to get more understanding, i would like to have a comparison possibility. there are many who have a good working eDGe. is there one of them who has also Sendlog on there device and are willing to send me such a logfile? with that I can see what should be in and i'm able to compare it with my own.
