When I look in settings/about edge/battery use, I find 'Phone Idle' always at the top of the list with the highest percentage.
After 37 minutes - Phone Idle - 73% Display - 20% Android System - 5% Android OS 4% WIFI is off via switch and software setting. Unit does not have latest update. What is 'Phone Idle'? ![]() Gunner... |

Never seen that. Do you have an app installed that runs in the background that might think you're on a phone and be initiating "phone" processes?

I think "Phone Idle" refers to the state when the LCD (and possibly wifi) is turned off. In this state, the processor is still running and consumes power (and you can use the e-ink side). Whatever battery is consumed during this state, the battery stat meter will call "Phone idle" I am not sure how background apps affect the battery usage in this mode. I find that if I fully charge the eDGe and then turn off the LCD and wifi, it will last about 10 hours before draining the battery.

Hmmm. No apps installed. If it were idle state why would it report using 73% of the power - even more then the display. The total of the four 'reported' processes equals 104.
