Correcting Ebooks

Hi,

Apologies in advance if this is in the wrong section. I am currently using Calibre to convert MOBI books to EPUB, then using Sigil to correct typos and small errors. Unfortunately the conversion process seems to create more problems than it allows me to solve. I believe this is partially because the Sigil software is a little over my head, as I can't read or write the html-like code. So I am wondering if there a simpler way to correct the MOBI files? Or is this simply a case of it being more trouble than it's worth for a layman?

Any advice is appreciated Thanks.

Both ePub and .mobi files are based on HTML, so any fixes are pretty much going to involve knowing some HTML.

It isn't hard to learn. There are lots of tutorials on the web.

It might be more trouble than you are willing to put up with, though.

How about converting to RTF instead? Then you can edit it in a word processor and convert back to MOBI in Calibre.

I'm not sure how well any images will be handled, but text should be fine.
