Another Broken Kobo Screen
I bought the first Kobo and loved it. I was hooked from the start. Halfway into a book i leaned over and with barely ANY pressure busted the screen. I was devastated. I sucked it up and bought another one. At this point they were selling the Wi-Fi ones so I got a new one. Again loved it. We are homeschooling our children ages 8 and 10. We bought them each a Kobo to read their school work on. Barely 3 months later the one of them is busted. They have cases and are used daily. I bought my mother one for Christmas and she is on her second one WHICH IS BROKE!!!! It was left in the RV and broken when she went to retrieve it. YES it had a case. So....out of the 6 I have bought because I love them so much 3 have had something wrong with the screen or somehow the screen has broken. I am seriously disappointed because I love the simpleness of the Kobo and it is now a necessary item for our homeschool. Currently, there are TWO broken Kobo's and the Borders are going out of business! Does anyone have any ideas what can be done? I NEED one for homeschool and one was a gift. My mother NEEDS hers too! With all the money I have spent, I am seriously considering the kindle. How is customer service now that Borders is bankrupt? Heather

I wouldn't recommend the Kindle if your buying any books or textbooks from anywhere other than Amazon. Have you tried to start a claim on the ones that stopped working by themselves? A common problem is that the connector will come undone (not your fault) and they will replace it, The costumer service is great, Kobo is a separate company from Borders, and Borders is still keeping CS for the Kobo. Hope this helped

I know it costs more, but the Sony Reader PRS-650 is much better built. It's not made of plastic. It handles the same ePub eBooks and the touch interface is very nice.

The Sony is good except for the price at double the Kobo price I went with the Kobo and I love it, touch screen for an E-reader doesn't mean much to me sort of a useless feature
