I Got the 350!!

I got the 350!! Yay! My very wonderful hubby got me the 350 for Valentine's day. I didn't buy it when I was in the US but he made a special trip to the States just to pick it up for me on Valentines day for the $130 and rushed home to be there before I got home from work with it.

He doesn't read and doesn't get why I enjoy it so much but it was so sweet of him to get it for me. He did it to make me happy and partly to stop hearing me whine about the various features of the new model. lol

I had major concerns about the touch screen and possibly making accidental contact too often and changing pages but it's not bad at all. I was very pleasantly surprised. It's not as sensitive as I was afraid it was going to be. I'm thrilled to be able to have both PDF & epub library books on one reader without it mucking up. I love the pink color and edging and that I can put pictures of my birdy babies on it.

I'm so, so happy with it. He got the silver one in the US and switched it for a pink one up here and even the pink case for it. I'm all pinked out now. And I even sold the old reader to a friend for $90 the next day. WooHoo

I'm doing a happy dance over here.

Yay! I'm glad it's working out so well. And that was very sweet of your husband.

I thought you would like it, but it wouldn't be clear until you actually had one of your own.

As a hint, I usually find Small size with the margin cut option enabled to be the best size, esp with PDF's as it keeps the formatting in place; you will need to re-activate that option if you exit a book and come back to it.

The dictionary feature is a blast - double tap with your stylus, if the author tosses in a foreign expression, there are French, German, Italian, Spanish (and Dutch!) dictionaries, too, for help.

Congrats!

Thanks so much Seabookguy. I'm still playing around with all the features. I haven't really had too much of a chance to yet. I wasn't sure I'd use the dictionary but I am. It is nice to have that option when you need it rather than need it and not have it.

I find it so much lighter on my wrists than the 300. It's not like carting around Lord of the Rings compared to a comic book but it is much easier on my wrist.

It's also very different playing with it in your own home rather than trying to get a feel for it when the thing is anchored to a display stand. You can't really feel it by weight or figure out what it feels like in your hands to read. The demo mode isn't the best way to see all the features either IMO. I don't like the feel of the stylus though. It feels pretty flimsy. Either of my parrots could kill it in one bite. LOL *snap*

I am thoroughly enjoying my new toy.

Congrats on your new reader (and on having a terrific hubby )! I'm sure the more you use it and poke around its features, you'll love it even more.

Really!! Is there anybody home and what on earth do you mean?? LOL I can see that happening. The more I deal with John & Jane Q Public, the more I shake my head at how they think, well, how they don't think actually.

I truly enjoy losing myself in a good book.

Nope, you guys didn't exaggerate. It's a wonderful little unit. I have to admit that I'm scared to see what the next models will bring. I'm quite sure I'll come up with I-want-that-itis. LOL But honey look what it can do!!! LOL

Congrats to your reader. I've got the hot pink 350 and the lighted cover. HOT doesn't even begin to describe it! Your Hubby sure did well!
(Oh, and by the way, when choosing avatar I almost had decided on the pink dancer as well. Are you and I by any chance twins separated at birth? )
