Trying to upgrade my kindle 3 to 3.03, but the downloaded file keeps disappearing.

Hi there. I just got my kindle today and loving it so far. I'm trying to upgrade from 3.02 version to 3.03, but the downloaded file from kindle website disappears from the kindle directory, and the upgrading option is still grayed out.

Can anyone help me with this?

On the Settings screen, what is the full version number shown? Is it 3.0.2 (553210206)? If so then it is a known problem.

Basically 3.0.2 (553210206) is a version of the firmware that the existing update packages don't expect to exist so it refuses to install 3.0.3. You and all the others are going to have to wait for Amazon to release a newer 3.0.3 or 3.0.4.

Thank you so much! Yes, I have the 3.0.2 (553210206) version installed. I guess I'll wait for newer versions.
