Tempted by PocketBook 360
My current "go to" eBook Reader is the BeBook Mini. I love it's small size and ability to read my liberated Mobipocket eBooks as well as any new ePubs that I might want to buy. Any new eBook Reader I get would have to be able to read both formats with ease since some of my Diana Gabaldon Mobipocket eBooks are happy to be liberated by refuse to convert to ePub. I don't mind paying for eBooks when I already have the paper book, but prefer not to buy more than 1 version of an eBook.
I am really tempted by PocketBook 360, especially the customing that is possible and the ability to look up words in a dictionary. I love the look of the 360 as well, they have done a great job designing the case. Reasons for getting a PocketBook 360
Reasons for not getting a PocketBook 360
Please help me decide what to do! Should I get the PocketBook 360, or stick with the BeBook Mini, or is there another eBook Reader that would meet my requirements that I haven't considered. Thanks! |

This the season to treat yourself! I'd say go for it! I got my pocketbook 360 in May and just love it. I do have all the buttons except for one to page forward so where ever my thumb or finger falls, I can turn the page. I also switch hands frequently and this is no problem.
I do all my reading in bed at night and finding a light was a problem. I got a cheap $5.00 clamp light and just held it behind the pocketbook but it kept slipping out of my hand. I came across the huglights and ordered one. This did the trick. I just wrap it around my neck and aim the lights. I liked this much better. Thankfully, I haven't dropped mine yet, so can't tell you about that. Good luck with your decision. |

I am very happy with my Pocketbook 360. Almost everyone who has bought it is, it's uncontroversially the best device Pocketbook has released up to date, and so far I still consider it the best 5 inch device. I personally would jump at a sale.
My advice: indulge yourself. The temptation is good ![]() |

OK, so it sounds like the 360 is a great little eBook Reader. Does anyone living in the GVRD of BC, Canada own one that I can get a look at? I know of someone in the Kelowna area who has one but that is a bit of a drive to look at an eBook Reader.

last year i dropped my personal 360 from a height of about 3-4 feet right down on my brick hearth! i was pretty sure it was broken. picked it up and it was working perfectly and still is. the only damaged was a sizable gouge in the silver plastic trim the runs around the edge.
i have some pics of the gouge here on mobile read somewhere. ill see if i can find them Last edited by Dulin's Books; 12-13-2010 at 11:48 PM. |

Hi Justy,, I was in the same position as you. I have a similar history as you as well. Started with a Gen 3 then on to a 505 and have had a Hanlin V5 for about a year. I saw the sale for the PB 360 and jumped on it. I have to say I love the 360. However, the V5/beebookmini is as good in different areas. They are both wonderful sizewize and the 360 is a bit more pocketable... I bought a opus sleeve from another MR member so my beebookmini/V5 is just as pocketable as the 360. You will not regret the purchase. The 360 is more adaptable for changing the buttons around but Coolreader 3 on the beebookmini is a little better in my opinion. Yes the cover is a major reason to get it Very cool and feels protective. Have seen the sony 350 pearl screen and it is better than the 360 or the beebook mini...but functionality wins hands down for me. Buy the 360.... in my opinion... |

I like my PB360. I was disappointed by battery life at first but now I just have it automatically shutdown after an hour of inactivity and the battery lasts and lasts. Startup time is quite fast (about 15 seconds). For a book light I find the Kandle works pretty well. You can also add additional dictionaries.

Thanks for all your replies. I broke down and ordered the 360, it is due to ship tomorrow so I'm pretty excited.
![]() I guess I should start looking around for an English dictionary to install on it. |

I have a Black 360 Pocketbook and really like it. I don't care for the butterfly buttons, but most people who own the unit are very fine with this feature.
At first, I thought something was wrong with my unit, because the battery never went down. It just kept going and going, which is contrary to "good business practices." After about another month of heavy use, it finally started to go down again, so I was relieved to know that nothing was amiss. Now, with continued use (and when I'm not using my main Reader, my Kindle 3), the battery still lasts about one month between charges. The PocketBook 360 is a wonderful device. Don |

My screen just broke on my pb360. I dropped it when I was trying to plug it in to charge. It landed case side down. I thought it was okay when I picked it up but when i turned it on the screen was quite cracked. So now I am on the hunt fir a new reader. My battery did not last long with mine but probably just mine since other people don't seem to have that issue. I miss reading on an ereader though.
