Took the plunge with Sony Reader
I finally broke down and decided to give electronic readers a try this week as the entry price was too hard to resist. I picked up a Sony PRS-300 for $37.50 on clearance, and the Sony lighted cover for $0.99!

My plan is to try using the reader with free and public domain books. Since the technology continues to improve year-to-year, I figure this was a no-brainer to see if the concept of reading ebooks works for me.

Wow, what a sweet deal that is! I can't believe how low those prices are.

I strongly doubt that you will ever regret that purchase. I use my Sony Reader exclusively for public domain books, and there seems to be no end to all the great classics available to be read, or re-read if necessary. In fact, there are loads of public domain books available right here in the mobileread ebook upload section; your choice of epub or Sony's lrf format. Happy reading!

Got the reader from Target and the cover from Frys. The price varies from store to store, so if you still see some in stock for a higher price then check back each Monday which is their markdown day for electronics clearance items. Some stores have the reader locked up in cases with GPS units, the store I nabbed mine in had it on a clearance end cap.
