[Now announced. New Kindle Fire Tablets. But we should see a new Voyage and Paperwhite in November.] Last edited by pdurrant; 09-26-2015 at 06:11 AM. |

Source, please? Also, do you really think a bottom-rung CS rep would have that info? Amazon is far too secretive for that. |

I'm interested in giving the Voyage 2 a shot. I went through 7 1st gens (over 9 months) and they all had, what I perceived to be, yellowish brown tint.

The CSRs could be referring to the $50 Amazon tablet that the WSJ leaked recently. It could be branded as a Kindle device. I didn't see e-ink mentioned.

It would be interesting if they start referring to a tablet as a Kindle, again. The website distinguishes the e-ink from tablets by using the Kindle name.

I agree. It is a non-news. I personally have a trouble ticket with Kindle CS open for nearly 3 weeks now - and the so called "engineers" or "specialists" still have not figured out how to help me. To be honest, it is a weird issue I am having - it took over an hour on the phone troubleshooting with the 2nd level of support (very knowledgeable, a big step up from the bottom grunt support) just to identify why I have a problem.

The chances of Amazon coming out with a Reader greater in size than 6" is very slim (IMHO) and if they do, I think they'd go 6.8"to compete with Kobo. The PW3 was brought out to compete with Kobo.

Doubtful, other than in the most broad sense of things.

That two CSRs have said essentially the same thing tells me that they have a scripted answer for that question (as I would expect them to have). I think that means that Amazon will be releasing something that they call a new model of Kindle before the end of September. A $50 tablet? No idea. But I'm sure there'll be something. |

I would expect to see a new Voyage announced in the next month. The current Voyage was released on 21st October 2014, and Amazon do tend to refresh product ranges on roughly a one-year timescale.
