My husband bought a Nookcolour for me whilst in Gulfpot MS recently after the salesman advised it could be used in NZ! Yeah right, with difficulty I emailed B & N who of course were of no assistance whatsoever other than to say I needed a US address (not a problem) and a US ISP and have someone purchase them in US for me to download from their site. Not a very practical solution! I understand I can download from other sites but I am very confused now after reading lots of varying advice on how to get round this problem. I have installed Adobe DRM but am being blocked by B&N from downloading. Grateful for any asssitance please.

Hi and welcome to Mobileread.
The geographical restriction is a problem for a lot of people. When you try to buy from B&N it most likely sees that your IP address is not in the U.S to remedy this situation you could use a freeware program like HotSpot shield which basically will make it look like your computer is in the U.S. There are several threads here at MR which will give you more information. |

You don't need to buy books from B&N. The nook will read any ePub-format book. Buy from whatever eBook stores are available to you that sell books in ePub format (which is pretty much all except Amazon).

Thanks David & Harry for replies to my problem. Will look into HotSpotShield. Brother in law lives in US so is it possible to somehow link through his computer using his ISP to purchase from B&N? Please excuse ignorance but terminology is all new to me!!!
