eBook Cover

I have an ebook, where the cover contains a cover image and the title page a graphic. When added to Calibre , calibre takes the image from the title page to show as cover. Does this happen alot/ is this some known issue?

Are you saying that you have an ebook (what format?) that contains a cover in the meta data but it is being overwritten when you import it into calibre by the graphic on the first page? Where are you viewing this change? On your reader? In the metadata? In the calibre viewing app?

Isn't that for conversion? or does that effect all updating of metadata irrespective of format/file type?

I have a different issue -- I add a new cover as metadata, which seems to "stick", but then on the device,
it shows the old one.

Adding it as metadata isn't enough, you then have to convert the ebook - even if you're keeping the same format - for it to become part of the ebook.

I have the ebook as ePUB. I wonder if theres something to change in the epub to have it read the image shown on the page defined as cover. Calibre shows the image on the title page as thumbnail.

[Edit: I found the problem lies with the epub internal OPF which still references the old image as cover. Ill forgot to set the new image as cover. Thanks and sorry for the confusion
