Christmas and expectations

Well, it's a few days from Christmas, and I have good reason to believe that there is a Sony PRS-505 sitting under the tree waiting for me. I like the 505 quite a lot. My dad got one a couple of months ago and we've been sharing it a bit. I've enjoyed using.

I asked my wife to get me one, settling on the 505 thinking that the nook was barely available, and a bit rushed to market. I figured that I didn't really need wireless and whatnot. And really, I don't. I've got plenty of ways to get online.

I see a lot of people swear by the 505. I've used it, I like it. I really like to hack away at things, and that's something that the 505 initally drew me with, but then android is obviously very open, and B&N seems to be willing. Am I missing something with the nook?
