what do Kindle owners hate?

We hear enough bashing about the Nook which has not even been released yet. My question is: What do Kindle owners hate about their Kindle ?

Lack of folders, that makes me to have only less than 10 books in it...

No native PDF support.

I'm used being able to create properly sized PDF docs, such as maps or recipes or travel itinaries. Recently, I scanned a book where there's photos and verses mixed in with the text, and it was a pain to get it to look nice in mobi - would have been much easier to format in Word and print to PDF.

Doesn't the "Search" facility somewhat make up for that? Even if you have 1000 books on the device, you can instantly locate them using search.

There is nothing I "hate" about my K1....I very quickly figured out where to keep my hands so that I didn't accidentally push the wrong button.

I have no problems finding the book I want.....and I have 57 pages. Sorted by author.

I don't like the screensaver, I would like to be able to personalize my K2 like I could the K1 and all my other electronic devices.

I was tempted by the Nook, but I compared book prices. I actually found 2 books that initially were cheaper on B & N, but mostly the prices are still cheaper at Amazon. The prices and the fact that my husband and I read some of the same books pretty much ties us to the Kindle. I don't think the 14 day thing would work for us.

Hate's a pretty strong word. Overall I'm totally satisfied with the kindles. My one nitpick is with the USB connections:
  • On the K1 there was no charging via USB.
  • On the K2 they used the newer micro-b connector over the mini-b connector, which is a pain. I have dozens of devices with mini-b connectors (and dozens of cables), but only one with the micro-b connector -- the K2.

I imagine the nook is probably a great reader as well, as I'm sure the Sonys and other eInk devices are.

I think the kindle/nook are perfect e-readers for the heavy reader who doesn't want to mess about with their computer each time they want a new book. Had I realized this back when I got my K1, I would have probably opted for a Sony instead, as I was mainly interested in copyright infringement. Sadly, owning Kindles has led me down the dark path of being an upright consumer -- I've found that the 5-20 minutes it takes to illegally download/re-format/convert a book is costlier than simply buying the book from Amazon and having it immediately delivered to me. My evil plans were once again foiled by my own laziness.

That's great if you only read on one device and don't mind if you may not be able to re-read the book in some years, when you may have bought a different device.

Yup, me too. Of the many techie devices I have, the K1 stands out as something I really love, and not only no "hates" but not even an "annoyed."

Right. The word "hate" has become a generic replacement for the phrases "I don't like" and "It annoys me." It's lost all its strong emotional associations.
