PowerPoint presentations on a BlackBerry

Company Impatica Inc. demonstrated on the Wireless Enterprise Symposium 2005 a beta of its Impatica for PowerPoint client-server solution that effectively transfers a Blackberry (running System 3.8 or higher) into a presentation device for fully animated, graphical PowerPoint files.

Presentations can be delivered to the BlackBerry over-the-air or uploaded via USB-2 or Bluetooth. Because of the slow CPU of the Blackberry, however, the PowerPoint presentation needs to be converted first with a server software into a compact format (it becomes impaticized). The resulting file is typically 95% smaller than a standard PowerPoint document.

Price and date of availability are still unknown.

Hi Colin;

I have just been advised that Impatica's product has been officially released. I saw the beta and it looked great! Evaluation copies can be downloaded from www.impatica.com
