Plugboard Tutorial?

Information on Calibre plugboards is sparse. I haven't found much. I'd like to use it, but I just can't figure it out.

I have a few columns configured that is populated by the Count Pages plugin: #grrating, #pages, #words, #fkgrade, #gfgrade. They're just numbers, like number of pages in book and the reading level.

I want to sideload books such that their titles include some of these numbers, e.g. The Light of Earth (196 pages, 3.9 rating).

How do I create a plugboard so that when I sideload books to an ereader, it uses the plugboard to modify titles to the above?

Look at the image. You write a template of what and how it is ordered, then specify the destination that gets REPLACD
That is why {title is in the new template} , I am just pre-pending the Series index to the title in this case. 004-foobar words
You can have more than 1 plugboard (line item) in play for the device.
eg. {#grrating}-{authors} --> Authors

Thanks. This was the information I needed. It wasn't work before but I was testing with "save to disk" and expecting the filename to be the title, which it isn't.

A followup question. When I update a plugboard, any way to update books already on the ereader? I have automatic metadata management enabled already but it only updates newly sideloaded books.

You are in luck. You have a Kobo...
Kobo Utilities has an Update Metadata for selected books.

The Automatic mostly applies to the initial transfer on some devices.
