Add all folders at once
Why can't I add all these folders to Calibre instead of one by one?

You can from the parent (the one containing) assuming each meets other rules.
Add (books): add from folder and sub-folders

BTW Technically, this is still a serial operation (one book processed at a time internally), it just runs from a few clicks to start it up

This is such a nightmare I have caused. Would it be best if I copied this library from the cloud to a folder on my pc that way I can drag and drop?

Is the library in the cloud, not local?
Unwise to keep running libraries in the cloud and never ever in google drive.
What O/S and version of calibre?

If it is in the cloud bring it local and then try.

And do not use the cloud software to sync. NEVER do that.
