Kindle Paperwhite 11th generation - what should I do with it?

I have my Kindle Paperwhite signature edition 11th generation just sitting about, now that I have the far superior Kobo Clara BW, and I'm kinda wondering what to do with it.

I don't particularly want to sell it, I won't be using Amazon again and don't have an account, I prefer the Kobo as an ereader so the Paperwhite is left in Limbo.

Is there any sort of customization I could perhaps try? (I believe Winterbreak needs an Amazon account so that's out?) Any projects worth trying out on it? Any other suggestions?
Or do I turn it into a fancy paperweight? A Paperwhite paperweight so to speak

Just for reference the firmware on it is 5.17.1.0.3

Any thoughts, suggestions, comments welcome!

You could jailbreak it and install KOReader and use it to read ePub (sans DRM).

You don't need a registered Kindle to do that?

You do. So simply register it to a 'dummy', throwaway Amazon account.
While doing that be quick and be careful so it doesn't complete downloading the OTA formate bin file ( = after registering connect to computer and delete the uplate partial file).
If you can I would suggest doing all those online activities while connected to phone's hotpot WiFi with the phone intentionally set to 2G only network (in order to have slowest possible intent connection so it takes longer to compete downloading ~300 MB? firmware installer).

It wouldn't be done on a phone but on a laptop or desktop so probably best for me not to take that route plus I don't want to sign up to Amazon even with a dummy account as it would mean also having to make a dummy email account too as I wouldn't want to use my actual email account with Amazon.

Thanks for the info though - looks like the Paperwhite may well be a paperweight!!

Mainly the hassle, I've only ever sold through Ebay once and got completely ripped off, and then had someone try to scam me, so wouldn't go that route, I could sell on here but then you've got to deal with money transfers etc again not worth the headache, I could potentially look at selling it to CEX (a shop that buys and sells electronic stuff) but they usually only give you a pittance (but might be worth a look ), maybe I will see if a family member wants it.

Just checked CEX they would offer £78 for it by the looks - worth a thought.

That's a pity. I've sold many of my used ereaders on local platforms and have never been ripped off. Some of them mediate money transfers for a fee (a percentage of the sale). And the benefit of living in a tiny country - a few of my sales have been face-to-face.

Well I took it to CEX they did their tippy tappy on the computer and couldn't find the Kindle Paperwhite on their system - even though you can get a price for it on their website, so offered me £20 , I declined. I will just keep it as a spare for now.
