I am looking to dig into the code to remove or edit the default column "Rating". I do not care about my personal rating of it with the numerical system. If I am adding a book to Calibre, of course I liked it. I need it to allow for content ratings instead, such as Explicit, Mature, Teen, General Audiences etc. I am unable to edit it in the portable application.
I have begun crawling through the application files, but would not mind some advice/assistance with finding what I am looking for. I attempted to add a new rating column and just hide the original one, but it wouldn't let me do it with the same Heading but different Lookup Name. Then when I tried to delete the original one, it would not let me do so. I saw in the gui.py.json a column map, but it doesn't say where it's pulling the code from, just the column titles. Advice or direction would be appreciated. |

You cannot change builtin columns. You will need to use a custom column via Preferences->Add your own columns
