How to read manga properly in KOReader?

I am trying to read manga on my Kindle Paperwhite 7th Gen using KOReader, but it seems KOReader isn't handling the CBZ files properly, or I might be doing something wrong.

I have the original CBZ files. First, I open KCC, select my Kindle model, check Manga Mode, Spread Splitter, Stretch/Upscale, and Cropping Mode, and then reconvert the CBZ file according to my device. I also tested unchecking some options, but when I send the CBZ file using Calibre to my device and open the manga, it looks like this. Also, the Panel Zoom isn't working, even though the option is checked:

I also tested KOReader's margin and page fit settings, but nothing makes the manga look proper. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I checked my original CBZ files, and they look completely fine. Please help me solve the issue. Thank you!

why are you trying to use kcc anyway if the original works fine? most of those settings are for other formats, not for cbz

I meant I never tried the original CBZ with KOReader. I thought at first that I needed to format the manga using KCC and then send it to the device using Calibre.

Don't I need to use KCC at all? The original files seem to have a higher resolution, and the file size is pretty big

you dont need kcc if you already have cbz anyway. at that point its just finding the right settings in koreader, if you want to use that software

If file sizes are bothering you, you can unpack images from CBZ files, and resize them manually with batch editing program, then zip them and change zip to cbz. They may be in PNG format, so you can save a lot of space by just converting them into JPEG. It's usually beneficial if they're a bit higher resolution than your screen if you wish to zoom in or use panel view. Zoom is a bit awkward in Koreader, but its panel view usually works well. If you're not using either, then you can safely downsize all images to exact resolution of your screen.

Other than that, just put CBZ files into your reader, and Koreader will know what to do with them. Imho, it's by far the simplest process, and a major reason for using Koreader over native reader.
