Problem with the export of annotations from Koreader to Readwise on an Inkpad 4
Hello everybody!
Is there anyone here who has experience with exporting highlights and annotations to Readwise? I have collected an access token from Readwise, entered it into the corresponding field in the export configuration of Koreader with a lot of effort and repeated checks, made sure that there is a working wifi connection, etc. But when I try to export, I regularly get the error message ‘readwise: failed to export’. (My Koreader version is from July 2024) |

Readwise works.
Pocketbooks, OTOH, might not. There're a few devices that have issues with wifi. If your device is one of those my suggestion would be to try to reproduce with the following steps. 1. Go back to Pocketbook home 2. Connect to wifi and make sure there's a working connection 3. Switch to KOReader and almost inmediatly try to export to readwise. If that fails have a look at the logs. They might indicate what you're missing. If that works then use this a workaround until somebody fixes wifi for those few devices left. |

Thanks for your reply. Tried the sequence, but with no success.
The logfiles look like the connection to Readwise succeeds, but the access token is invalid or not communicated: 12/05/24-00:08:34 WARN Readwise: HTTP response code <> 200. Response status: HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized 12/05/24-00:08:34 WARN error creating highlights HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized |

Found the problem: l/I issue in the access token... And the wifi connection is also a problem I have to be aware of. Pocketbook tends to lose its connection, as you said.

Quote:
WiFi timeout isn't a issue on most pocketbooks, where we can turn wifi back on. It seems a few? models still have issues checking if they're online. Those devices are easy to spot as "turning on wifi" will never finish sucesfully. If that's not your case you can assume the entire issue was the access token. |
