Font size good in Calibre, extremely small on Kindle

Hi,

I'm baffled with the current situation: I have docx, the default font is Times New Roman 12pt - most of the text is written in it. I converted it by Calibre and I can verify in both AZW3 and EPUB HTML code that pages have "calibre" style and that style has Times New Roman 12pt.

So it's not a "conversion" problem, I did the same thing in the past and the resulting ebooks were always quite readable on my Voyage (no matter if I did DOCX->AZW3 or DOCX->EPUB->AZW3).
This one file is perfectly readable in Calibre viewer.

But on the device with my 'font size 7' default, the font is like 3 points or something (42 lines on one screen). Making it bigger by pinching solves nothing, as for example footnotes are then displayed huge. The problem is clearly small font, despite size 12pt. Even switching to built-in fonts does not help.

So - any tips, what I may be overlooking? BTW: Is there anything like 'kindle' emulator for Windows, because testing on real device is a bit tedious.

EDIT: Please disregard, found serious error between chair and keyboard!

If anybody would have the same problem in the future: No, the fonts in ebooks should not be in "hard" pt values, but as a multiples of 1em. That's what's the setting Look & feel/Disable font rescaling is good for. It should be off, then font sizes are in 'ems' and everything is good. Don't know why it was on.
