Help with organizing books on Kindle
Hi there,
I feel like I missed some introduktion to Calibre/my kindle Oasis, maybe something super basic, but I am having a horrible time having my books organized on my device when I travel. I hope a kind soul perhaps can help me on a very very basic level. I have more than 400 books, they are all DRM-free and handled through Calibre. A lot of them are from very big series, with 10-30 books in the same series. In calibre, it is very easy for me to keep track of them, they are all populated with the right meta data, series number etc. However, on my kindle it is a mess. I have a hard time keeping track of in which order I should read my books when I am reading a series. I keep having to refer to a separate series list, as I can't see the series number on the device. Also I use folders (collections) with the Authors names, and try to keep the books in the "root" and then move into folders when I am finished, but this only works like 80% of the time, 20% of the time the books doesn't move correctly. Is there anyone that can help me down the right way? Should I change the titles to include the series number first? how do I make my Kindle a pleasure to browse through? Thank you very much. |

(Preferences) Metadata plugboard
Allows you to force into the metadata extra stuff while sending to the device WITHOUT changing the Library {series}-{series_index:0>5.2f|| - }{title} -> title (I format the number of digits with 2 decimals as I use those: 02.56 ) |

If you buy your books through Kindle, I mean Amazon, you can group your books by series automatically there’s a setting on the Kindle for that. I’m not sure if it will work with side loaded content. You could create collections on your Kindle and I think you still could add books to it even if it’s side loaded content.
