Error communicating with device Mac

Calibre recently stopped working with my kindle. Whenever I go to send books to device I get this error code:

calibre, version 5.44.0
ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device

[Errno 5] Input/output error: '/Volumes/Kindle/documents/Weeks, Brent'

I tried updating to the newer calibre and got the same error code please help!

That's an error with the device firmware/memory. You can try resetting the device or contact amazon for a replacement. Trying a different usb cable/port might also help.
