Is there a way to automatically export the library
Basically what it says on the tin
I read a lot away from home, but the sites I use to download new books are blocked on my laptop. I used to sync calibre to google drive, but after hearing about it hiding books from calibre I turned it off. Is there a way to get calibre to export the entire library to a folder - Ideally every time a change is made, but on startup would work too - so that I can sync that folder with google drive and not have to worry about breaking stuff? |

You can use FreeFileSync (mirror mode) to mirror a copy to another folder. Close Calibre before you start FreeFileSync, and never use the two-way mode.

FFS setup should look like this:
Thanks @Sirtel for suggesting FreeFileSync, it has become my current and definitive solution for library backup (on a external HDD). |

For Backreaders: To get it to sync automatically, I set up my folders, went to file -> save as batch job, then went to my desktop and opened RealTimeSync (if it's not there, check C:\Program Files\FreeFileSync). Then I went to file -> open and opened that same batch job, set the time to 60 seconds, saved that, and started it. You'll still have to start RealTimeSync up manually though unless you set it to run upon login. |

FreeFileSync is the best. Forget the others mentioned.

On iOS the reviews aren’t good (not integrated in iOS) and for android it looks like you still need a PC for syncing to NAS - not exactly ideal.

I still think my solution of an external M.2 drive and FreeFileSync to back-up is the best solution. It means if you don't have a net connection (or fast enough), you still have your library in full and easily accessible.
