Paperwhite 3 dark mode

Hello I have a paperwhite 3, running 5.16.2.1

Was wondering if there is any way to get it to display white text on black aka dark mode. Thanks

AFAIK, you need a Paperwhite 10 (2018) or newer to use dark mode. I'm not certain if this also applies to inverted mode. When reading a book, get into the accessibility menu and see if you see an invert black and white item item though this will likely invert everything.

If you are open to jailbreaking your Kindle, there is also this extension created by cronot; can be toggled on and off from within KUAL.

The main caveat with this solution is that the screen refreshes to full white for a split second at every page turn, which might be disturbing to some people, especially when reading in a dark room.
