Calibre hangs on startup or when adding books

This was a persistent problem with version 6.6.0 and 6.6.1. running on Win 11. Reinstalled several times, restarted machine and Caiibre, updated plugins, removed plugins - nothing worked. Reinstalling usually got me to the library screen once, but then locked up if adding books or metadata. Eventually disabled full text indexing and this solved the problem.

There are no changes to full text indexing in 6.6. So something is likely interfering with calibre on your machine.

I have the same problem when adding books.

Calibre hangs out, and I have to force close it.

I've noticed that not all books cause that, only some. I can provide a file with a book that always does that, but I don't want to post it here. I can do that if there is a way to share it privately.

If I open a book that does this with the Calibre ebook editor, I can see that Calibre has added the following:

multiple times. Sometimes hundreds of times. With the books that don't hang, this code is missing.
