Weird graphic displays in Kindle text

Has anyone seen/solved this problem? In one author's ebooks, a strange graphic appears through out the novel ... about a half dozen appearance per page. It is a square box with four numbers in it (0094). It does not display in the Calibre viewer ... just on the Kindle. When I view the text using SIGIL, there is a quote or apostrophe character ('' or ') instead of the weird graphic. I can delete the quote character in SIGIL and the SIGIL text looks OK; but, the weird graphic still displays on the Kindle.

0094 is the character (number) that is missing in the specified font.

This is strange in that 94 is a basic ASCII character

Thanks for responding. I agree with your assessment. Unfortunately, I can't find any software that will get these characters to display so that I can delete them before Caliber sends to the Knindle device. Any suggestions?

Use the transliterate unicode conversion setting in calibre that might work around the problem.

I had no clue on how to use calibre yet I managed to fix this issue with your recommendation, I can finally read my book in peace without straining my eyes and brain, thank you 100x
