Jailbreaking Kindle to access eBooks via USB: Is it possible?

Hello, everyone! I hope you're all doing well. I've been following the forum for a while now but never interacted before!

Recently, I requested a refund for my Kindle because the edges of the screen were turning white. I was told that it would be locked, and now I can't log in to any Amazon account on it (which is obvious). When I copied some eBooks via USB, they didn't show up in the library. I was going to try to Jailbreak it to see if I could gain access to the internal folders, but unfortunately it's on version 5.15.1.1. Is there anything I can do to at least be able to access PDF, MOBI, eBooks, etc. that I copied via USB? I've tried putting them in all the folders, but they still don't show up in the library.
