indesirable text visible in Koreader but not in Kobo

			Hello

I've got a book in which there are these tags : <span epub:type="pagebreak" id="page_3" role="doc-pagebreak" title="3"/> and so on <span epub:type="pagebreak" id="page_X" role="doc-pagebreak" title="X"/>. X is cleary the page number of the printed version of the book (see below) In Koreader, all these numbers "X" and so on appear in the right margin. Fortunately, there is no page breaking. In the native Kobo reader, all is fine and this text is not visible. What surprises me is that in the tag <span epub:type="pagebreak" id="page_X" role="doc-pagebreak" title="X"/> , there is no plain text : "X" appears only in the attributes. However Koreader picks the number and shows it . About the book : I bought it on Google Play and transferred it to my Kobo using ADE and Calibre. Calibre e-book editor indicates errors in the css pages. However, even before correction, the rendering is good in Calibre viewer and Kobo viewer but not in the Koreader viewer. When I edit the book and delete all the tags <span epub:type="pagebreak" id="page_X" role="doc-pagebreak" title="X"/>, the Koreader view is then OK. So my question is why Koreader keeps this tag, extracts the page number and shows it. I can provide a short extract of the book if useful. Thanks Villard Last edited by Villard; 02-19-2023 at 05:21 AM. |

.Those are (one of the ways to use) an ePub 3 feature to display "reference" (i.e., pbook) page numbers. We display those by default, but disabling that is a tap away ([Document] > Reference pages > Show reference page labels in margin). (That menu will only be visible on documents that use this feature. Like everywhere else, a long-press will set a default so you don't get surprised in another book later). c.f., https://www.w3.org/TR/epub-33/#sec-nav-pagelist for the possibly relevant part of the ePub specs (which is, as always, a joy to navigate... (/s)).
