5.38 to Calibre 6
I'm on ver. 5.38 and thinking of upgrading to Calibre 6; if things go south, can I easily revert to my current version? (I'm on Windows 10)

It should be fine, though you'll need to uninstall to downgrade. (Don't use a clean uninstaller for this; it risks nuking your user settings and/or library db.)

What do you mean by a 'clean uninstaller'? I would uninstall from the Control Panel/Programs and Features. I also keep my library and the configuration folder backed up in multiple locations.

Yeah, that's fine. I'm referring to third-party programs that clean out leftover files after uninstallation.

Do all your (installed) Plugins support 6.x <---
FWIW I would run Library maintenance BEFORE. (just to rule out those kind of issues) And wait for the metadata backup status to settle to 0 (if things needed fixing) |

One plugin you should upgrade if it needs it before you upgrade Calibre is DeDRM. Make sure sure it's at 10.0.3. The URL for 10.0.3 is https://github.com/noDRM/DeDRM_tools |

). Thanks for the reminder on the DeDRM plugin - I was still on 7.2.1. After all this, I successfully upgraded to 6.8 and everything looks good for now.
