Filename format for Email to

When sending an eBook by email to Amazon, the attachment filename is used to construct the title. Presently Calibre formats the filename as Title - Author, resulting in Amazon including the Author name in the title. Now that Amazon is using the Author from the metadata again, this is no longer helpful.

I cannot find where to configure the filename used for attachments in the Email to feature. Changing the Saving to Disk save template has no effect on Email to's attachment filename.

in the next release calibre will only use the title when emailing to kindle addresses.

Any chance of being able to template the file name for "Email to..."?

To be able to workaround the Kindle PDOC behavior of taking PDOC title from filename (which makes plugboard manipulated metadata less useful).

(Yes, Amazon could be friendlier to imported EPUBs and consume dc:title as well as dc:creator.

That may or may not happen someday, but I'm not holding my breath.)

The answer to that is to use the metadata from the plugboard to constitute the filename.

Sorry; are you saying that's currently possible? I don't see filename as a plugboard destination field. (Running 6.7.1 on Win10.)

See it; looking forward to it. Do you need to trap for invalid characters in the metadata, or perhaps that's handled elsewhere already.

Confirmed working as expected in 6.8. When sent to Kindles, plugboard changes in title become the filename as-sent.
