Libra Wi-fi issues - connection fails after DHCP renews?

Recently, every day after the DHCP lease expires, my Kobo Libra H2O just fails to re-connect until I disable and re-enable the wifi on my router. The network appears in the list, but when I click it and then enter my password, it just gives me a message about it failing to connect.

This only started after Hurricane Fiona knocked out my power for a few days. I'd disabled wifi during that time because I thought it might preserve battery life, then re-enabled it later.

I dug through the router settings but nothing seems to have changed since the outage. (Also, seeing as it was unplugged from the wall, I don't think a power surge took it out.)

Has anybody else seen this? Any ideas of how to fix it?

Maybe worth a try deleting the network from the Kobo, do a reboot and re-add it again?

You could try entering the Kobo's MAC address into the router and giving it a reserved IP address so that DHCP always hands it the same address. If Kobos support static IP, you could also bypass DHCP entirely.

I removed the network and re-added it, and reserved the network address in the router settings; will find out tomorrow whether it works.

I dug around MobileRead and found some old threads saying static IPs weren't available on Kobos. Not sure if it's any different now. I'm using a Libra H2O so not the newest device.

Adding to Aleron Ives post, you can see if you router has an option for how long it holds the lease for. Giving a new IP every day seems a bit much...
