Help! Blank Sigil window

I've previous used Sigil 1.9.2. When I started Sigil yesterday it said there was a newer version (1.9.20), so I downloaded and installed it. Now when I run Sigil I get an empty window. If I try to open a ePub file from the menu, I get another empty window. If I use the Finder to choose a ePub file and open it in Sigil, I get an empty window.

I have deleted all versions of the app and deleted the sigil-ebook folder of Sigil preferences, and reinstalled, but nothing seems to help. Is there more I could/should clean up?

Running MacOS 12.5.1.

All suggestions will be appreciated.

The latest Sigil works just fine on all 3 macOS machines I have tried.

It sounds like a graphics driver issue? Have to tried updating to the latest version of macOS 12.5.X?

A screenshot would help us see what you are seeing.

Is this an Apple Silicon machine?

What does "About Sigil" say?

Have you tried reinstalling Sigil-1.9.2? Does that version work?

Does dragging and dropping an epub onto the Sigil icon do anything different?

I have the latest OS, 12.5.1.
The machine is MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015).
I think Apple Silicon is much newer (2020?).
The processor is 2.5 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7.
The graphics is AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2 GB.
Sigil-1.9.2 has the same problem. I've tried reinstalling both.
Dragging and dropping does nothing different.
All the menu items appear to respond. If I open a file and do a Save As, the result opens fine in Calibre, but the Sigil window stays blank.
The About Sigil window says: https://sigil-ebook.com/sigil, GNU Public License v3, Version 1.9.20, Build time 2022.09.01 14:15:42 UTC.
I do not see a way to attach a screenshot of the window. The title bar says (for example) untitled.epub - epub2.0 - Sigil [std]. There is nothing else.

Get yourself into Advanced mode and click the paper clip icon in top tool bar.

Exit completely out of Sigil.

Then go to:

/Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/sigil-ebook/sigil/

where USERNAME is your username.

And rename the file sigil.ini to sigil.ini.bak

Then try starting up Sigil.

CURED! (Not solved, just cured.)
What finally worked for me was to open Sigil without my external monitors connected. After that, it appears to work correctly, even with external monitors.

Yes, noting you had multiple monitors would have been useful. Sigil remembers the last location and monitor and changing monitor order or relationships can confuse things. And the solution is to start with a fresh settings file with just your primary monitor.
