Is there any way to jailbreak 5.14.3.0.1?
Hello all

I just bought a Kindle paperwhite 2021 signature edition, unfortunately, the pre-installed system version is 5.14.3.0.1. thus, is there any method to jailbreak this version?

any kind of help will be appreciated.

As far as I'm aware, no.
But it's interesting that they now ship with this version. Has anyone else bought a SE recently?
I bought a PW 5 about two months ago it still had the original software from a year ago.

What? Where you bought it? I bought it here in Melbourne, when I received it, it is 5.14.3.0.1, and I contact Amazon customer service to replace one, the replacement one is still 5.14.3.0.1, jesus!!!!!!

Someone asked there about a PW4, but it was never answered. This might be a possibility, but I am not sure.

Thanks for telling me, but my device is a pw5, I use PW4 tag because there is no pw5 tag in this forum

I don't think PW4 (or PW5) would work, because they both have locked bootloader's, so you would have no way to boot Popcorn. They don't have serial ports either, so no hardware jailbreak is available for now.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

If anyone was curious: PW5 doesn't have a serial port (or at least the production unit's main board doesn't have it where unit sent to FCC had).

Bootloader is locked everything post-KT3 (though somebody recently showed me a demo that appears to show a HAB bypass on a locked Kindle X Migu which may or may not be applicable to other FSL/NXP devices).

But yeah, it's unlikely that you'll be able to jailbreak a PW5 shipped with a FW version released after WatchThis until somebody comes up with a new software based exploit.

The Kindle X Migu is pretty much the same specs as the PW3, right?

I saw somewhere that the Kindle X Migu version was able to be ran on a PW3.
Do you have any other information about it. Do you know how locked down it is?
