Not sending Series to Kobo Libra 2
Hello
I'm sure I've overlooked something simple but can't work out what it is, so I'd be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction. I'm sending titles, authors and even collections with no problem, but when I click on the show Series button it tells me I have no series, even though they are in the metadata. In Preferences/Sending Books to Devices, the saved template says: {author_sort[0]}/{author_sort}/{series} {series_index:0>2s} {title}{#coll} That as I understand it serves as a plugboard to send my metadata. I'm using Calibre 3.48 with the plugin KOBOTOUCH348 (1.02) which I installed to let Calibre recognise the Libra 2 and have disabled KOBOTOUCH Extended. In the KOBOTOUCH348 plugin, I have ticked Set Series Information. metadata management is set to automatic, and I've unplugged several times which has made no difference What have I missed? ![]() Last edited by Ned; 07-21-2022 at 10:45 AM. |

Sorry, that is working exactly as expected.
The Series tab on the device is not built from the displayed series name. There is another column in the database that is used for this. For books purchased and downloaded from Kobo, this is set. For sideloaded books, this has to be set by some other methods, such as the driver. The code to do that was added after calibre 3.48. The KOBOTOUCH348 driver does not add this function. It only adds the ability for calibre 3.48 to recognise the Kobo devices that were release after this version of calibre was released. It does not add support for function added to the firmware after that time. You could try using NickelSeries. This is something added to the device and updates the metadata from the books. From memory, it will update the details needed for the Series tab. It is discussed in https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=331680. |
