Kindle Fire 7 Windows Error communicating with device
Hi, I've been using Calibre for many years mostly on a Windows PC and Kindle Fire 7 (2019) device. I just updated to the new Kindle Fire 7 (2022) device and am receiving the error at the bottom of this post when trying to transfer books by USB. I have confirmed that I can transfer items in Windows File Explorer from the PC to the new Kindle. Calibre also still works fine when connecting to my 2019 Kindle Fire 7.
I have a Mac which I do not use with Calibre, but just did a fresh install there. I was able to connect my new 2022 Kindle Fire 7 to Calibre and successfully transfer the Calibre QuickStart Guide by USB. It appears to me that there is some issue on my Windows PC or Calibre library there that is causing the connection error with my new Kindle Fire 7. I uninstalled Calibre on my PC and reinstalled v6.0, but that did not help. Does anyone have any thoughts on what may be occurring? I may try moving my library over to my Mac and see if I can transfer everything to the new Kindle. That is an error listing the files in the device storage. This has been known to happen with some
devices when they contain SD cards. If you remove the SD card, you should be fine. You can try reformatting the card or using a different card as well. Otherwise your only hope is to reset the device or use one of the wireless connection methods. |
