Darken Reader display on Linux
A dark theme can be quickly set for the book, but then the table of contents and bookmarks are still very light. That can be very annoying and it would be good if that could be changed.
I have already asked in a Linux forum. There I was recommended the commands: sudo apt install qt5ct qt5-style-plugins export QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=gtk2 export QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=qt5ct But hasn't changed anything. They said someone here would know how to do it ![]() |

That works very well, thanks for that. But I always start caliber from a launcher icon. If I now change the command for the starter to "export CALIBRE_USE_DARK_PALETTE=1 & calibre" I get the error message: Command ... could not be executed. Child process ... could not be run (file or directory not found). Which command does the starter need?

If you're using it as part of a launch command, then ditch the 'export' and the &. Just use something like:
CALIBRE_USE_DARK_PALETTE=1 calibre The 'export' makes it semi-permanent (for the duration of the current open terminal say). That's better for use in a .profile file or the like. The Calibre binary clearly needs to be in your PATH using the the above start command. |

go to your /home/USER/ folder
edit .profile (create it if it does not exist) add the following lines: Code:
export CALIBRE_USE_SYSTEM_THEME=0 export CALIBRE_USE_DARK_PALETTE=1 |
