Troubleshooting Kindle Keyboard screen replacement help needed

I need help with a kindle keyboard and a screen replacement.

What I have:
Two kindle keyboards that charge, connect to a computer, have a functional battery, and have 90% destroyed screens.

One kindle keyboard with a working screen, that has a drained battery (max of about 5 seconds life), and does not connect to a computer (USB port failed?).

I want to learn how to move the working screen to one of the two remaining working kindle bodies. I am willing to sacrifice one to learn what I'm doing if the second one survives.

Wouldn't it be easier to just move the battery from one of the broken screens to the non-broken screen?

The USB interface on this body is dead. I get nothing but an error probing the USB interface from the computer when I plug it in. So ... while it might be easier, and if it turns out the screens are incompatible, sure; but if I don't have a usable computer connection, then it's time to abandon shell.

I recently dropped a kindle keyboard into the recycling bin at best buy. It's battery was dead, but the screen was fine. You might look in thrift stores for replacements.
