Comixology comics are larger than screen

Since Amazon merged with Comixology, their comics are now in azw3 format. In Flow mode, the calibre ebook viewer renders the comic images at larger than screen width (The right side of the page is cut off), with no way to scroll right to see the entire page. In page mode, the images are too small for my tired old eyes to read (With no way to zoom in on the image). Converting to PDF adds a large white margin around each page, so that really doesn't work, either.

Any advice on how to configure the reader to view the images full size, or is this a bug?

Thanks,
Kevin

Never mind, I found another thread (with a solution from Kovid Goyal) that addresses this.

If you were used to getting your comics from ComiXology you may see lower image quality in the Amazon equivalent.

See the thread No more DRM-free downloads as Amazon's ComiXology app set to disappear inside Kindle for more details.

Interesting. I used to use the Chrome plugin to download my purchases from Comixology in cbz format but, with the merging into Amazon, I can still do the direct download from the Amazon website ( I don't use the kindle app, I read ebooks on my kindle Oasis. I only read comics/magazines on my laptop and I use Document Viewer for those, not calibre. My laptop runs on Linux Mint, so others' mileage may vary. I also use the DeDRM Tools to strip DRM when I import into calibre.). The downloads from Amazon are in azw3 format. I used Kovid's recommendation in the thread I linked to to unpack the book into its individual jpgs, then recombined them into cbz format, and the quality looked the same as the comics I downloaded from Comixology. It's a bit of work to go through, but it was worth it to me to have my comics in cbz rather than azw3 format.
