Viewer Closes Without Showing Book

I've been using Calibre for a very long time, but recently I cannot open any book in the ebook viewer.

I ran Calibre in normal and debug mode, and when attempting to open any book, even the Quick Start Guide, I get a Viewer screen with either the message "Preparing book for first read, please wait", or "Loading book, please wait". After that the E-book viewer dialog box goes away.

Here's the log of one attempt. Any guidance would be appreciated!

The viewer not working is typically caused by graphics driver issues. You can try updatig the graphics drivers on your machine and if that doesnt work, try turning off hardware acceleration, as described here: https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qtwebengine-debugging.html

I had some time over the holiday to give this suggestion a go and I just wanted to reply that the graphic driver update works!

Thank you so much for your help and for Calibre in general!!!

P.S. - since the end-of-year bonus was more generous than expected, I'm happy to be SUPPORTER of Calibre.
