Prevent overwriting of ISBN when downloading metadata

Sometimes when I download metadata for a book, it also grabs an ISBN that's attached to a different edition of the book than I have.

If I'm downloading in bulk, I can use merge to prevent overwriting. But in single-download, the only option is to undo, which also removes the other downloaded identifiers.

Any idea what to do?

Copy the other identifier, undo, then paste

Or copy the old ISBN before downloading. That'll work. Thank you.
