[Content Server Viewer] Use Volume Rocker to turn pages
Dear Kovid,
I am using Android devices (phone, tablet, eink reader) to read on the Content Server (via either Chrome or Fully). Is it possible to use the volume rocker (some eink devices may have physical buttons too) to turn pages? I see so many options for keyboard, but not these buttons. |

No idea, whats preventing you from assign those buttons to one of the scroll actions in the viewer's keyboard preferences? Assuming those buttons generate key events in the browser, ofcourse.

Handheld devices have no keyboard. I am now reading on a tablet, placed in a holder, if I can use the bluetooth earphone to turn pages (possible in Reasily - Android), it is much more convenient. With a phone, I can simply tap the screen, no complaint whatsoever. Regarding the physcial buttons of some eink readers, I don't have them yet so I don't know, but I'm curious, because whether I buy them or not depends on if they can be used to read on the Content Server. Edit: I will buy a small blutooth device, like this, only for about 1 dollar, to see if it works.

As you mention ereaders with buttons, Kobo does not send the page turn buttons to the browser. But, that doesn't really matter for this as you use the browser is not compatible with the full calibre server. You need to use the mobile version of the page. That does not open the books in the browser but will download them. I would expect the Oasis to be the same. Maybe one of the eink based tablets would do it. |

I borrowed the game controller from my kid, and it works just right. There is no need to change anything.
Thanks all the developers involved in this great project. Sent from my GM1910 using Tapatalk |
