Oasis not Downloading items via LTE

This last week I've noticed a definite issue with my kindle Oasis(es). Both the Oasis 1 and Oasis 2 are having trouble downloading books. They just stick in the queue mode and don't open on the machines.

While I expected the Oasis 1 to have issues soon as 3g is supposed to disappear in December, it is not December yet. Also the Oasis 2 has LTE which isn't supposed to be going away.

Is anyone else having these problems?

I read 3g was going away in March or April 2022, FWIW. But that does not appear to be the issue with either of your Kindles. Maybe try another location (might be local issue)?

The new Paperwhite (shipping later this week) does not have a cellular connection option at all.

The Oasis 1 didn’t ship that long ago, and apparently even the Oasis 2 has 3G, shipped only 4 years ago. Surely they knew the days of 3G were numbered by then?

It's not just you. My LTE PW4 won't download books either. I noticed yesterday. It was working OK on the 21st.

I can access the store, but samples won't download. I can access wikipedia (eventually), but I have to bypass "invalid certificate" "unable to establish a secure connection" several times.

I'm glad to hear that I wasn't the only one! I spent several hours with the Amazon customer service, including restarts, syncing, and reregistering. They have no answer at this time.
I have 5 bars of service and am able to buy books via 3g & LTE, but the items just won't download.
Even stranger, my old kindle keyboard has no problem downloading books, just the newer kindles.

FYI, having spent many more hours chat and phone with Amazon, it appears the company line is that books now can only download by wi-fi/computer loading. When asked which of the newer kindles (e.g. Oasis 10th generation or Paperwhite 2018 which both have an LTE option still) would continue working their answer is that there are no kindles for sale which will download without wifi.

As a long- time kindle user, I am disheartened. One of the major selling and using points for kindles was that, no matter where in the world I was I could buy books and read them immediately. I understood that 3g was going away, but had newer kindles ready to travel with me. Now it looks like the end of the era.

That seems so very wrong.

It was always the case the personal documents wouldn’t download over cellular (though sometimes, it would), but purchases were always part of the deal.

Hmm. I just tested this here on my WiFi + Free Cellular Oasis 3.

I "forgot" the WiFi network and still have books to download. Books without thumbnails, even.

I only have one bar of LTE but thumbnails do download.

So I tried to download a book that wasn't yet on my device and that downloaded as well. It wasn't even particularly slow; about the same speed as it usually is over LTE, which I admittedly rarely use.

I just tried another book and it downloaded too.

I am absolutely connected to LTE -- the icon shows in the status bar, and I have one bar signal bar, as mentioned.

I just went downstairs to try on my second Oasis 3, one signal bar, also able to download via LTE.

Next I tried my WiFi + Free Cellular Connectivity Paperwhite 4. Two signal bars, also able to download.

So it seems more is going on here.

I 100% confirmed that I wasn't accidentally connected to WiFi -- even rebooted my cable modem after "forgetting" the information on the second Oasis 3 and the PW4. I downloaded the books during the reboot process in which I had no WiFi connectivity and my devices have never been connected to any other WiFi network.

I couldn't download books since 25 Oct. I have been trying daily and can finally download again today.
