Editor shortcut to switch between open files

Is there a Calibre editor keyboard shortcut to switch between open files. Adding references to chapter text that links to the notes file requires way too many switches between chapter.html and notes.html. A keyboard shortcut like Alt-Tab to switch between open Windows apps would be a God send.

Didn't know that was a possibility, so thanks for the prompt reply. Tried Ctrl-Alt-Down and it inverted my image on screen--am replying standing on my head I was able to change the keys assigned and got some results. "Next file" goes to the next file as listed on the spine, not restricted to files already open in the editor. BUT in a Eureka moment I thought of changing the order of the files in the browser so that the two files I need to work with were one after another and Voila you have given me a quick way to toggle between them. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. |

To switch between the tabs, use Ctrl-Tab and Ctrl-Shift-Tab. That cycles through the tabs, not to the most recently used as some other applications do.

@Ted Do you have some other Hotkey app in use? Those can mess with your results. |

No hotkey apps in use. I just checked all BG apps to be sure.

Ctrl+Tab: If the cursor is at the beginning of a line it inserts a space right there. If the cursor is elsewhere it throws to start of the next CV 'window' but another one will insert a space at the beginning of that file Ctrl+Shift-Tab: Works as you describe. AFAIK these shortcuts cannot be customised. BR PS: It's one of the reasons I prefer to use Sigil for code editing

And if feels like a bug. There is no difference between what happens with just the tab key and ctrl+tab in that place. But, it doesn't have to be the start of a line, but, if there is only whitespace before the cursor position, so it might be intended.

It seems that Ctrl-Alt-Down/Up are shortcuts for driver of some Nvidia graphic card. But such shortcuts can be unabled.
