Calibre's temporary folder

Is there a way to move it to a different location? Partly for convenience when grabbing debug logs, partly because I'm more comfortable getting them off my system SSD and onto a mechanical drive.

Is it okay to put both CALIBRE_TEMP_DIR and CALIBRE_CACHE_DIRECTORY to the same folder?

If you mean separate subfolders the same parent yes, if you mean the same target folder - no.

Firstly, the editor unpacks epubs to the 'cache folder' but copies files to the 'temp folder' when the editor's File browser->Open with feature is used. If the cache and temp folders were one and the same, the file system would probably throw some sort of duplicate name error - or worse.

Secondly, to improve performance the viewer stuffs the recently read books in the cache folder.

And there's bound to be some thirdlies and fourthlies

I'll set them to subfolders then. Thank you.

EDIT: Created D:\Temporary\Calibre with temp and cache subfolders. Also stuck my test library in another subfolder.
